This week marks the second week of me sewing full time (or as much as possible). Brad has come out to help and I have been calling in favors to get our machines running like Usain Bolt. Folks that stay up to date with Brad and Myke's podcast, The Pen Addict, know that we were waiting on zipper the first few days of last week. Since then, we have gotten a great deal done. Our production plan is to get all of the Early Bird Brasstowns completed and then dive into standard production full force. The Brasstown is the most complicated case we have and there are a huge amount of steps involved (I posted some of them on Instagram.)
The machines that we purchased to streamline our process have been working out well. Both Brad and I are amazed at how awesome the bar tacker is working and how much higher the quality of our products is becoming with each additonal "job specific" machine we set up. I think it is important to express that each case is made by myself, Brad, or a helper. We aren't just sending our drawings out to get produced by a faceless factory. With these machines we are able to maintain as much standardization as a few, relatively skilled, humans can.
This week we will be able to touch the Kickstarter funds and we will order the remaining materials that we need to complete your cases. Brad and I would really like to thank all of you who have supported us through this process!
(We have a few things up our sleeves to keep you guys around too!)
